HOW MUCH MEMBRANE DO I NEED
Are you not exactly sure of how much Membrane you need for your build? Below is the Membrane calculator to get you to the number of boxes you may need. Enter the length and width (in inches) of each area you want to cover in Membrane. You only need to input areas you want to cover in Membrane. Leave blank measurements you do not need. After you have entered all your numbers (in inches) press calculate and we will tell you the number of boxes we recommend for your vehicle. Because not having enough Membrane to finish your project sucks!
The Membrane calculator is a tool to help you. This calculator does not consider the curves and odd shapes of the interior that you may have. This is ONLY an approximation of the number of boxes you need. The Membrane calculator does give decimal values of boxes needed. Example: If your calculation comes to 2.18 boxes you may decide that you only need 2 boxes instead of ordering a 3rd box. If your calculation comes to 2.79 boxes you might want to go ahead and order that 3rd box.
MEMBRANE 5MM
Membrane 5mm, the OG of it all focuses on Thermal Protection for ultimate heat insulation, (added sound deadening properties also). Basically, insulating the interior of vehicles. Clearly, we are a manufacturer of air conditioning systems, kits, and parts, but we noticed that most custom car builders thought the “sound dampening” material they were using also blocked out the heat. Don’t just hush it, block it!
Membrane 5mm is real thermal protection. Membrane’s 3mm of closed-cell insulation foam rubber does a lot. When applied, there is a significant decrease in temperatures inside the cab. We also found that custom car builders were using a standard “sound deadening” material in their builds and were unaware that it did not provide adequate temperature adjustments from the outside elements. Membrane, by Restomod Air, is the only thermal insulation material with sound-dampening properties in one sheet. The 2mm Butyl Layer is for vibration damping and is proven to quiet the noise and rattles your vehicle produces. Each box contains 9 sheets of 18″ X 31.5″ of 5mm thermal insulator with Sound Dampening material, giving you 36 sq ft. Membrane can be applied to floor, roof, doors anywhere to block out the outside noise.
MEMBRANE MAX 8MM
Focused on blocking the heat from the engine bay and the sun, Membrane Max’s 6mm of closed-cell insulation foam rubber does a lot. When applied to your firewall or roof, there is a significant decrease in temperatures inside the cab. Membrane Max has 2mm Butyl Layer is for vibration damping and is proven to hush the noise and rattles. Membrane Max is the thickest material Restomod Air makes and each box contains 5 sheets of 18″ X 31.5″ of 8mm thermal insulator with Sound Dampening material, giving you 20 sq ft. Membrane Max can be applied to the firewall & roof to block out the outside noise.
